An episode of Law & Order, “Talking Points”, provoked thoughts on Liberal hypocrisy and deception on Abortion. As previously noted Liberals use Hollywood productions, like the Law & Order episode, to subtlety advance the Liberal agenda. In this case it was their agenda on Abortion. The episode illustrated the liberal attempt to justify Abortion as a means to provide cures for debilitating diseases with Embryonic Stem Cell research.
This is not just a mere Hollywood fantasy. Liberals used “Embryonic” Stem Cell research as a cause to rally votes in the 2006 elections. As usual liberal used lies, misinformation and deception to support the cause. In the elections and shows like the Law & Order episode liberals do not mention that “Embryonic” Stem Cell research has been a failure but Stem Cell research from Adult Stem Cells and Core Blood has had success. That is because that information does not facilitate the need to kill human fetuses.
This issue of killing a human fetus brought to mind the arrest and prosecution of Danny Poplin for murder in the Dec. 31, 2006, killing of his girlfriend’s 27 week old fetus in Sacramento, Ca. An article in the Sacramento Bee, Jan. 4, 2007, B-1, also mentioned two other cases, Scott Peterson and Nickolay Soltys, who were both prosecuted for murder in the killing of their wives unborn fetus. This issue is not unique to California as there are similar cases throughout the country.
While there can be debate on when “life” actually begins and reasonable people can disagree. Those who support Abortion hold that the fetus is not a human life, some say until actual birth and others argue the fetus becomes a human life at various times, or trimesters, during the pregnancy. Opponents hold the fetus is a human life, some as early as conception, and Abortion is the murder of the fetus.
Regardless of one’s belief on when “life” actually begins, for one to be intellectually honest, one fact is indisputable. That is there must be legal consistency. Liberals and feminist can not have it both ways. Legally, intentionally killing a fetus, that does not threaten the life of its mother, is either murder or it’s not. If a woman can choose to kill her fetus by Abortion and not be prosecuted for a crime, then anyone who intentionally kills the same fetus by any other means can not be justifiably prosecuted for killing that fetus.
I have had many debates with liberals on this issue. When liberals are asked to explain how the killing of a fetus by Abortion is not murder, but the killing by another means is, causes them much consternation. Liberals will either refuse to answer or turn into an intellectual “pretzel” trying to defend the inconsistency.
I would offer this inconsistency will soon find its way to the U.S. Supreme Court where Roe v. Wade will once again a focal point in the review. If the Court is intellectually honest it will reverse Roe v. Wade as bad law decided on a “made up” right to privacy that does not exist in the U.S. Constitution. The issue of the legality of Abortion would then revert back to the individual states. If the Court is intellectually honest it will reverse any conviction for murder of a fetus in states where Abortion is legal and find all prosecutions for the murder of fetuses in those states unconstitutional as they would violate the “equal protection” and “due process” clause in the 14th Amendment.
