The liberal campaign season is in full gear. Void of constructive ideas liberals rely on criticism, political lynching and smear campaigns hyped by their liberal “lap dog” media. In previous campaigns it was forged documents, accusations of substance abuse, and “outing” the V.P.’s daughter as a lesbian, on and on.
This election year the sleazy liberal democrat smear campaign hyped by the media entails the Mark Foley scandal. Today (10/05/06) Drudge reported that, “according to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives.”
Instead of campaigning on “real issues” that face America the liberal democrats are employing gutter political tactics and focusing on destructive propaganda. They are utilizing a few of Herr Goebbels Propaganda Principles; #1 – Propagandist must have access to intelligence concerning events and public opinion; #4 – Propaganda must affect the enemy”s policy and action; and #13 – Propaganda must be carefully timed.
Here are some interesting facts minimized or not reported by the liberal media. The “sexually explicit IM’s” reported by Brian Ross of ABC News was dated April 2003 at 7:00 pm (no day given). Ross or ABC did not address who had this information for the last three years or the carefully timed release. One source of the “innocuous emails” is the so-called “watchdog” group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). The Executive Director Melanie Sloan was counsel to Bush impeachment advocate Rep. John Conyers (D- MI), Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) and is now working with the discredited former Amb. Joe Wilson. CREW is also funded by the Hungarian liberal activist billionaire George Soros. Another source is Michael Rogers and John Aravosis of the Washington Blade. Rogers, a homosexual activist, admits to waging an “outing campaign” against homosexual politicians that do not support the “gay agenda” and had targeted Foley. In March 2005 Rogers is reported to have boasted to Bill Burton (DCCC) that they had good news and would expose Foley closer to the midterm elections.
ABC headlined a story that a page, Matthew Loraditch, claimed pages were “warned” about Rep. Foley over five years ago. What ABC failed to report was he subsequently clarified his comments on Facebook.com. Loraditch posted, “The fact of the matter is in an informal situation a supervisor mentioned that Foley was a bit odd or flaky and did not connote by tone or otherwise that he should be avoided.”
Liberals cry from the D.C minaret that Rep. Dennis Hastert and Republican leadership is culpable for not taking action to protect pages. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) voiced democrat talking points saying “The fact that they (GOP leaders) didn”t stop him, the fact that they didn”t bring in law enforcement — I think they have to be held accountable.” This selective moral outrage by democrats is nauseating and hypocritical.
Democrats fail to mention that ABC’s Brian Ross also dismissed the emails when he learned of them in August 2006 because he “was too busy with Hurricane Katrina and the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks to pursue them immediately.” The St. Petersburg Times did not run the story because the e-mails were nothing more than “friendly chit-chat.” The FBI admitted “they had been given the emails but had found insufficient grounds to open criminal investigation.”
And, where do democrats get off accusing anyone of sexual misconduct as voiced by the liberal puppet Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claiming “House Republicans behavior here is abhorrent.” Consider these repulsive democrat dalliances. Rep. Gary Condit’s (D-CA) affair with his intern and later discovered dead in a Washington DC park; Rep. David Giles (D-WA) was convicted in June 2000 of child rape; or Rep. Frederick Richmond (D-NY) pleading guilty for soliciting sex from a minor. No liberal outrage.
Consider the immoral predatory behavior by these democrats that was celebrated and rewarded by their colleagues. Rep. Gerry Studds (D-MA) was discovered having an affair with 17 yr. old male page. He indignantly attacked his criticizers and turned his back on the Congress when he was censored. His response drew three standing ovations from “outraged” liberals. Rep. Melvin Reynolds (D-IL) was convicted of charges that included sexual misconduct with a 16 yr old campaign volunteer and sentenced to 6½ yrs in prison. Reynolds was pardoned by President Clinton and employed by Jesse Jackson as a “youth counselor”. Two of the most outrageous examples are President Clinton’s predatory sexual affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky and Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-MA) killing of Mary Jo Kopechne on a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island.Â
Democrats claim moral superiority, yet expressed no outrage with these predatory behaviors. Liberals defended them as “private matters”. Republican response is quite different. Rep. Dan Crane, who was censored with Studds, contritely apologized and lost re-election. Rep. Mark Foley resigned and support criminal prosecution if warranted. The selective outrage expressed by democrats and hyped by the liberal media is nauseating and hypocritical. Is the Democrat “Culture of Personal Destruction” desired in a nation’s leadership?
