“If the facts don’t fit the theory, change the facts.” Albert Einstein
“Change” for change sake is not always a good thing. After the great economic crash of 1929 President Franklin Roosevelt promised “Change” from the Hoover Administration. After being elected he force fed Socialist programs that expanded what should have been a two to three year depression into a depression lasting more than a decade. FDR’s change is the root of the financial and social problems we are experiencing today.
President Lyndon Johnson promised “Change” when declared War on Poverty in 1969. LBJ and the liberal Congress enacted a series of Socialist welfare programs that would have made Karl Marx proud. After 50 yrs and $5 trillion the Liberals claim they need to continue to raise taxes for more and bigger welfare programs, while “getting even with the rich.”
President Jimmy Carter promised “Change” from the corruption of Watergate and gave Americans an economic crisis, 18% mortgage rates, 25% interest rates, shortages in gasoline, long gas lines at gas stations, the creation of the terrorist state of Iran and such overwhelming incompetence that democrats were unable to achieve the White House for twelve years.
President Bill Clinton promised “Change” and gave Americans the most corrupt administration in modern history, a mediocre growth in the economy, financial institution scandals, an overheated stock market that ended with the dot.com bust and the 1999-2001 Recession. A real recession, not a mythical recession generated by the democrats and liberal media.
Now here comes the new liberal messiah promising “Change”. B. Hussein Obama, who as the Illinois State Senator rarely had the courage to take a stand and in eight years voted “present” 130 times. In the US Senate he is designated the most liberal senator in the Senate. He sponsored the Global Poverty Act of 2007 which would have required the US taxpayer to pay for the reduction of global poverty. He co-sponsored the Fair Pay Act that would require business to pay men and women the same wages for “equivalent”, not the same work. He told Americans that “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times.” He supported the high price Americans are paying for gasoline but offered the caveat that he would have preferred a more gradual increase. All at the cost of the American taxpayer!
Remember Obama would have a liberal democrat majority in Congress. Remember these democrats also promised “Change.” Consider the “Change” Rep. Pelosi and Sen. Reid has given Americans since winning the November 2006 elections. In November 2006, the average price of gasoline was $2.21 a gallon. In June 2008 it was $4.19 a gallon. In November 2006 a bushel of wheat was $4.35 and in June 2008 it was $7.50 a bushel. In November 2006, rice was $9.25 cwt and in June 2008 it was $17.00 cwt. In November 2006 milk was $2.99 per gallon and in June 2008 it was $4.31. The largest increases we have experienced in an 18 month period!
Can we really afford any more liberal “Changes”? If the liberals have their way and elect B. Hussein Obama, the most liberal senator in the US Senate, as President of the United States, you can bet change is all you will have jingling in your pocket. And not much at that!
