Yesterday I saw a cute but so realistic cartoon in our local fish wrapping grade Democratic newspaper.

Anyways, in the Forum part of the phone book like Sunday edition, among tons of paper spam, was a little cartoon showing an old lady, sitting in an airplane next to a Middle Eastern man in a Turban (without profiling, I would have never guessed that the unshaved person on a turban and a robe was posing as a Middle Eastern traveler! J). Candidly, she was asking him if he was part of the silent world majority of the peace-loving Muslims or if he was a terrorist ready to blow her to pieces.

Five years almost to the day after September 11, Madrid and London, the War on Terror, we are still waiting for moderate Islam to come forward and take a side, denounce the one that blow us up or try when they don’t kill fellow Arabs. [Read more…]

This quote has been used to explain the various alliances in Middle East conflicts. A review of history will find these alliances are fluid, depend on who is the enemy, the degree of hatred and what is the desired final outcome. The recent conflict between Israel and Hezbollah is a prime example of this fluidity. The Arabs have not allied with their old enemy Persia in this battle against Jews. Arabs see Iran as the bigger threat. Then there is the union between the Hezbollah and Iran with liberals and the liberal media.

 

Let’s examine this unholy alliance. President Bush, capitalism and Christianity is the common enemy. The degree of hatred is extreme. The desired outcome is the destruction of President Bush and establishment of power or control of government. For their part, liberals and the liberal media have employed misinformation, lies and propaganda as the primary strategy to achieve their goal.

This strategy is evident in the reporting on the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict. Liberals attempt to legitimize Hezbollah by referring to them as guerrilla fighters and militia instead of terrorist. They only mention that Hezbollah started the war, has launched over 3,000 Katyusha rockets against Israel, fail to emphasize these rockets have been converted to kill civilians and minimize the killing of innocent Israelis civilians. Canadian police foiled a homegrown terrorist attack by arresting 17 suspects, apparently inspired by al-Qaida, who obtained three times the amount of an explosive ingredient used in the Oklahoma City bombing. The FBI said the Canadian suspects may have had “limited contact” with two men recently arrested on terrorism charges in Georgia. About 400 regional police and federal agents participated in the arrests Friday and early Saturday.

“These individuals were allegedly intent on committing acts of terrorism against their own country and their own people,” Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a statement. “As we have said on many occasions, Canada is not immune to the threat of terrorism.”

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested 12 adult suspects, ages 43 to 19, and five suspects younger than 18 on terrorism charges including plotting attacks with explosives on Canadian targets. A major problem is, all the suspects were either citizens or residents of Canada, educated and working in that country. Their families also live there. 21 Major US airports have failed a security test and let bomb materials through. Of course, Homeland Security officials are surprised and TSA claims some kind of unfinished training while stating that security is the prime objective of the company. Should you be worried, so long and so much money after 9-11?

The fact of the matter is that the bomb material that was sneaked in had nothing to do with what the available screening technologies look for, that is to say traditional traces of traditional explosive. With a good insider knowledge of what goes on in the airport as far as screening goes, the teams in charge of testing the security smuggled common household products that only become explosive when combined together. So, TSA failed, by lack of equipment, and security was breached, allowing through material capable of taking an airplane down in each of the 21 tested airport. Did the Feds cheat? [Read more…]

In one scenario laid out by The VonFrederick Group, terrorists could hide an atomic weapon inside a cargo container, load it on a pirated freighter, dock it at a pier in San Francisco, and detonate the weapon before anything could be done to prevent it. Such an explosion would instantly kill every living thing for miles and utterly destroy the entire city and surrounding areas. Nearly every building would be demolished. As for people, San Francisco has an estimated population of over 740,000- the death rate would be expected to be at or near 100%. Deaths attributed to the effects of radiation poisoning as well as those who would perish in the resulting structure and wild fires outside the blast’s immediate reach could number in the thousands. Should something like this occur, September 11th would seem insignificant in comparison.

The preceding scenario came to mind when I read an article in the February 17th, 2006 edition of The New York Times about the control of the ports in New York. According to the article, “P&O Ports operates the New York City Passenger Ship Terminal and owns a 50 percent interest in the Port Newark Container Terminal, which is the third-largest cargo terminal on the Port Authority’s property.” This British company, Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) also runs ports in New Jersey, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Philadelphia.  Our government has approved the purchase of P&O by Dubai Ports World (DP World). DP World is owned by the government of Dubai which is part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Of the four suicide bombers who struck London’s transit system on July 7, 2005, one was a Jamaican-born British citizen and three were of Pakistani descent but born and raised in Britain. One of them, Mohammad Sidique Khan, had recorded a chilling video message of more terror to come, which was aired on Al Jazeera in September 2005. London’s Guardian found the message “disturbing not only because of its contents but also because of who was delivering it. We have become used to such grim messages delivered in Arabic. This was spoken in English, in a calm native Yorkshire accent, aimed specifically at British Muslims.” More than likely Continental Europe, as well as Britain, has homegrown suicide bombers among its second-generation Muslims. British intelligence has found, that Islamist preachers in Britain have radicalized most of these terrorists.

Prime Minister Tony Blair announced new legislations giving the government powers to take preventative action, including expelling preachers of “ate. These actions will help but will not eliminate the problem. In the 1960s Singapore had, by statute, set up the Islamic Religious Council. The council controls all sermons in mosques and teachings in madrassas (bet you wish you could do that here in the U.S.). Yet in December 2001, Singapore and Malaysia arrested the first group of 30 homegrown Jemaah Islamiah (JI) members as they were planning to detonate seven truck bombs at American, British, Australian and Israeli targets in Singapore.
