Only in America

On Monday, millions of illegal aliens and their supporters marched across America, demanding that they be afforded the right to live in the United States. They also demanded all of the rights that have been afforded to me and my family; rights such as education, medical, voting, government jobs, to name a few. Some even threatened that when they over-take America, all Gringos will be in trouble. They said that they have the right to be here just as my family has the right to be here even though they came here illegally. They have become sophisticated enough to wave the American flag instead of the Mexican flag or flag of their respective countries.

Now, I have no problems with people immigrating to this country and work towards a better life. I have no problem with people immigrating here legally. I also have no problem with people receiving an education, medical attention, jobs, housing, etc. I support people escaping oppressive governments, dictatorial governments, state sponsored terrorist governments, and genocidal governments. The Date Rape

A disturbing trend is on the increase. I was shocked at the high incidents of this form of criminality, if it indeed happened. It is the date rape. There is no single form of date rape. Some rapes occur on first dates; others after a relationship has been developed; still others after the couple has been involved for some time. In long-term or close relationships, the male partner may feel he has invested so much time and money in his partner that he is owed sexual favors or that sexual intimacy is an expression that the involvement is progressing.

He may make comparisons to other couples who have dated as long and are sexually active. Males who use force in their dating relationships are more likely to be angry, jealous, and stressed, have poor communication skills, act irrationally, use alcohol, and report more efforts to control their partners than those men who never use force in dating relationships. Homegrown Terrorists: How Concerned Are You?

homegrown-terroristOf the four suicide bombers who struck London’s transit system on July 7, 2005, one was a Jamaican-born British citizen and three were of Pakistani descent but born and raised in Britain. One of them, Mohammad Sidique Khan, had recorded a chilling video message of more terror to come, which was aired on Al Jazeera in September 2005. London’s Guardian found the message “disturbing not only because of its contents but also because of who was delivering it. We have become used to such grim messages delivered in Arabic. This was spoken in English, in a calm native Yorkshire accent, aimed specifically at British Muslims.” More than likely Continental Europe, as well as Britain, has homegrown suicide bombers among its second-generation Muslims. British intelligence has found, that Islamist preachers in Britain have radicalized most of these terrorists.

Prime Minister Tony Blair announced new legislations giving the government powers to take preventative action, including expelling preachers of “ate. These actions will help but will not eliminate the problem. In the 1960s Singapore had, by statute, set up the Islamic Religious Council. The council controls all sermons in mosques and teachings in madrassas (bet you wish you could do that here in the U.S.). Yet in December 2001, Singapore and Malaysia arrested the first group of 30 homegrown Jemaah Islamiah (JI) members as they were planning to detonate seven truck bombs at American, British, Australian and Israeli targets in Singapore. Singapore arrested a second group of 21 Islamic militants in August 2002. [Read more…]

Are Your Rights Slowly Being Eroded?

freedom-of-speechIn the December 2005 newsletter Eric Chevrevuil discussed the 1st Amendment and freedom of speech, as a freedom the U.S. Constitution was created to guarantee. The discussion indicates Eric, along with many Americans, doesn’t get it. The Constitution was created to place limits on government, not the citizenry. Take the 1st Amendment; “Congress shall make no law; or abridging the freedom of speech.” No confusion there. No allusion to kinds of speech, just speech. Yet, those like Eric, minority activist groups, and activist judges, revel in exactly that, lofty discussion about definitions, applications and interpretations of free speech.

Oliver Wendell Holms’ claim in 1919 that any speech is not free speech is in of itself contrary to the 1st Amendment. Of course, yelling “fire” in a crowded theater is an obvious rare example of unprotected speech due to the inherent danger caused by the immediate result of stampede. However, there are no inherent dangers in offensive speech and the questions posed by Eric make for nice debate but is irrelevant. The framers of the Constitution indulged in these debates and carefully chose the words in the Constitution to avoid confusion and multiple interpretations. What Eric and like minds seem not to realize is that offensive and unpopular speech is exactly what was being protected, in spite of the so called “French” saying, one’s freedom stops when it infringes on another’s. Human Trafficking: Marketing Sex

human_trafficking2Human trafficking is one of the ugliest and most preventable man-made disasters in our world today. Many of the cases worldwide involve the massive sexual brutalization upon millions of the most marginalized groups in society- children, woman, refugees, ethnic minorities, and the poor in the most horrific encounters imaginable. The appalling epidemic of human trafficking unfortunately only flourishes in areas that it is tolerated by the local law enforcement. The multi-billion dollar industry of forced abduction, rape, and false imprisonment can only thrive if the perpetrators hold out the victims of these crimes to the general public so that customers can locate the people and “services”. This is a simple historical marketing strategy: If the customers don’t know the service exists, sales will probably be limited or non-existent.

Brothel keepers and pimps cannot hide their victims and to make a great return on their investment, they must keep their service open to the public for continuous long periods of time. How do we keep a public open door policy on an illegal (almost world-wide) felony act? This is generally facilitated by bringing the government or local law enforcement into the business by sharing profits of the corrupt business for the exchange of protection against local governing laws. “Sex trafficking requires the commission of multiple felonies in a way that is held out openly to the public”(G.Haugen, 2003).
