WHY CAN DEMOCRATS INSULT BLACKS AND GET AWAY WITH IT?

Crime, Education, Politics, Terrorism, Violence

President Obama! He is light skinned for an African American and does not speak any negro jargon. Also, our first black American President is not black enough to defend African American rights. We should just cut his “bal.s” off because after all, a couple of years ago he would have only served us some coffee.

It has been a year. Has the social experiment failed? According to the democrats I quoted above, racism is still rampant among the filthy rich left wingers and hypocrisy runs high within the democratic party and its followers. Oh well…Sharpton, Jackson, Clinton or Reid voiced their true nature with impunity. How many more lefty racists out there? You guys must be so proud!

By the way…I wonder what party still harbor a former KKK member…I am of course talking about the good ole Cornelius Calvin Sale, Jr., lifetime politician and racist, adopted son of Titus and Vlurma.
The guys was so much into black bashing that according to Wikipedia, he was made Exalted Cyclops. According to Cornelius, “a Klan official told him, “You have a talent for leadership, Bob… The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation.”"suddenly lights flashed in my mind! Someone important had recognized my abilities! I was only 23 or 24 years old, and the thought of a political career had never really hit me. But strike me that night, it did. He held the titles Kleagle (recruiter) and Exalted Cyclops. In 1944he also wrote: I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side… Rather I should die a thousand times, and see OldGlory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.” In 1946 or 1947 he wrote a letter to a Grand Wizard stating, “The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia and in every state in the nation.
This is the Oldest and longest serving congressman, guys, a lifetime Democrat also known for Liberal ideas…another lefty racist…one of the last standing segregationist…and he is a lefty….
Every morning, in DC, Democrats, Congressmen and women and representatives have the same question about the ailing and almost senile old guy: is he still alive? Are we still going to be able to wheel him down there so he can vote?
You must be so proud! lol

By the way….is Byrd alive? lol

  3. eric  •  Jan 15, 2010 @7:50 pm

Also…look at Obama speech on Races during his campauign…and review his gut reactions during the Gates vs White cop fiasco…and now look at his open mindness regarding the racist vulgar and personal comments made by Sharpton, Jackson, Clinton or reid. It shows you that one’s ideals and pride goes backstagewhen you need political support or your 60 votes.

Like many things, it is all about personal interests and hypocrisy! The N word can be used “black on black”. 95% of the blacks murdered in America are killed by other Black people…but it is in every single black person’s interest to be officially victim of racism from white right winger.
So White right wingers are racists. Hate crimes!!??
What are Blacks abusing Blacks and white left wingers with a public and obvious disgust and disrespect for blacks? Love crimes!!??

Like affirmative action, offical racism legalized as a policy at our governement level, racism is just in the eye of the beholder…one can accept it as long as there is some benefit.

    You must be soooo prooouuuud!

Eric, granted that Harry Reid was stupid and insensitive and–this bears repeating–stupid in his comments about Barack Obama’s presidential candidacy. But you Republicans can’t be serious when you compare his remarks to the ones which ended Trent Lott’s tenure as senate majority leader. Because to make such a comparison displays a breathtaking lack of understanding of what made Lott’s comments wrong. Don’t try that with sensible people.

Republicans are saying that because Lott was drummed from office, so too should Reid be. You people literally can’t be serious. Reid’s and Lott’s comments simply aren’t comparable beyond the fact that that they touch on race. To suggest they are the same would itself indicate that the GOP still doesn’t understand why Lott’s comments were offensive. And that my friend, is why you all are thought of as being racists.

You know these politicians and the way they think, really makes me sick to my stomach with their choice of words. He does not truly regret what he said, because he thought it; he spoke it. The mind has all power over all of our actions. The sad part about it is, he came out and said it publicly without even holding his tongue back. Should we accept his apology? As people of GOD yes we should and forgive him, BUT he and any other politician or even citizen for that matter is wrong for speaking any negativity like that. Again, what does skin color have to do with anything? We all are created from one source and thats the Almighty. Take for instance a car, Mercedes- C350(Chinese), E350(Caucasian), S550(African American), ML350(Indian), GL450(Mexican). Whats the difference, they are all Mercedes and serves the same purpose. My point is we are all human and skin color should not matter. These people make me sick with all this racism bullishit.

  26. Douglas Hanley  •  Jan 17, 2010 @7:45 pm

What so many of you fail to understand is that if a republican said that, you’d be shouting from the roof tops for their resignation. In fact, you have in the past and they were forced to resign. So it appears that when a democrat makes a racial statement, then clearly they have just mis-spoken. However, if a republican says the same thing, then they are a racist. Before I die, I just hope for once in my life, we can treat all politicians the same. Make a racist statement and you either stay or go for either party. If those that say this is no big deal can honestly sit there and say if Rush Limbaugh had said this, you wouldn’t be calling for his resignation or boycotting his advertisers, you’re lying to yourself.

Sorry, but as a teacher of the international lingua franca, Obama certainly has an Ebonic dialect and pronunciation. It is sometimes difficult for international translators to keep up with him. I suppose Obama picked up the speech patterns due to his work, marriage, and environment after he arrived in Chicago. It is always important for heads of state to articulate clearly and well in their mother-tongue, their comments will be going around the world. Obama has room for improvement. There’s still a little room for head shaking. Don’t panic, it’s not “W”.

Eric, we all make mistakes. However the fact that Obama was the first really viable Presidential candidate certainly played a factor in the election. This is combined with the strong oratory skills that was able to ignite the passions of millions of people who were fed up with the past administrations debacles and stumbles added to the momentum.

As far as the “no Negro dialect” that was the show stopper in what Reid said, particularly in the light that so many people are looking to distance ourselves from any sense of degrautory remarks about any race but particularly the African American popluation with Obama being elected President..

Take things in the overall context and action of any person rather than an isolated comment or sitiuation. For those who read the Bible, remember the words of “Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged!” and “Let He Who is Without Sin Cast the First Stone”.

This story is sad in itself, it shows how the Left in this country already feels about minorities, inferior minions who can’t speak correctly, to control at their whim. I find it even worse at the comments written here, by the Liberals, who are hypocrites and are obviously racists. The majority of these comments were very racists but at least show their true color and what Harry Reid and the rest of his ilk are, REDS. I have alaways spoken about how “dark skinned” and using a “negro accent” are huge political liabilities in these racist United States, and how anyone with brains knows this, including Reid, who’s comment was right on the money. I also mention how ridiculous it is that people ‘in the know’ – like senators – can and do talk about this sort of thing behind closed doors, but that the general public isn’t smart enough in a big picture sense to be able to handle it and understand it. From what i understand, there are many whites in this country who speak something less than the king’s perfect english. how exactly do we describe the pronunciation idiosyncrasies, elisions and slang of white americans? we don’t, because they are white and however they choose to speak is not subject to criticism or parody, nor is it ever considered worthy of comment.

I have no problem with harry reid’s comments, he is an older person and can be expected to say something that sounds a bit outdated but is not necessarily offensive. but conservatives like Eric who are jumping on this as yet another example (in their minds at least) of hypocrisy among democrats would do well to shut up, considering how disrespectful they’ve been to the office of the president since a black man took over the job.

I have lived through all of the name changes and one thing I know for sure is “It does not matter what we are called we are still black in America with all the trappings that follow”.

We allow this kind of thing to distract us from the real issues. Reid should not have to apologize , he was telling the truth making an observation that if the black community would admitt it, knows is true. We know that we reguard each other the same way.

So all democratic original Obama supporters are tripping all over themselves to rush out saying they forgive Reid for his comments. Funny how Clyburn was so quick to come out and use race against both Clintons falsey yet now wants to move on and we shouldn’t worry about Reid’s comments. Sharpton appears to be doing the same. Seems “race” is only important to certain people when it is of benefit to their motives or intentions. I guess we must all forgive Reid so healthcare can pass, but we were told to hate the Clintons and elect Obama instead, and now when anyone comes out with negative comments about Obama’s policies they are branded 99% of the time as nothing but racists, and therefore their concerns should be dismissed. This display of the double standard from the democratic party is a real eyeopener to the hypocritical standards they engage in.

  62. George  •  Jan 20, 2010 @2:40 am

Eric… Isn’t it amazing that you will find a few moronic and imbecilic liberals who lack the independent intellect to reguritate the democrat talking point about Trent Lott. The liberals like Reid, Biden and Clinton and racist welfare pimps like Jackson and Sharpton make pure racist remarks that insult blacks or conservative blacks… while lot was just being complementary and nice while toasting a 100 yr old senator on his birthday - Lott’s comment had nothing to do with race… but then of course since liberals are inherently racist they would project their view on his comment.

  63. eric  •  Jan 20, 2010 @4:33 am

George…they are not realizing that when Bush opened the road to Obama, he gave America its best present: a wake call!
Today, the most Democratic bastion of the Union just voted the liberal agenda and Obama’s policies out. It took one year for America to wake up to the suicidal feel good liberal agenda. And hopefullty too, republicans out there are going to get the message: stop turning our country into a soft bellied politically correct foufou third world country populated by entitled fat idiots! Stop catering to demagoguery! Get up and work! Get up and fight! Get up and make your future! Get up and earn it!
Even Democrats in Mass have stated that with their vote! The liberal social experiment is winding down fast…Yes we can…we just did…and no Obama nor Clinton nor millions have changed people’s mind in Mass
The Obama factor…becoming the fear factor! Dems are going to start moving away from him and his agenda the same way they isolated Clinton. At least the one at risk of being voted out next fall. The teleprompted liability will be nicely asked to mind his business at the Wite House.

BOSTON – In an epic upset in liberal Massachusetts, Republican Scott Brown rode a wave of voter anger to win the U.S. Senate seat held by the late Edward M. Kennedy for nearly half a century, leaving President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul in doubt and marring the end of his first year in office.

    My favorite of this blog:

It’s so fun and predictable to watch this Congress and President self-destruct. Thanks for the laughs, now give me back my money!

Thank you Betty! It is on the way!

Did you say “wait a cotton picking minute?”
Whoaaaa. I rest my case…get your head examined for rampant bigotry and racism!

Go back to your sand box, take a ritalin and bury your head!

  66. eric  •  Jan 20, 2010 @4:51 am

    Yes we can!
Mass. is the one we have been waiting for!
The changes we have been waiting for…coming from the most Democratic state of the union.

What will Kerry do now! His State sort of sent him a message, right?

    Lol

  67. eric  •  Jan 20, 2010 @5:11 am

“I don’t know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that [Reid case]. But I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that harry Reid acted stupidly ; and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being villified. That’s just a fact.”

Whydidn’t obama come up with such a gem, at lest to preserve his credibility?

  68. Richard Wise  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:33 pm

Eric, you republicans never have anything substantial to attack so this is what you all jump on, it’s all you got. I think when you evaluate comments like Reid made you need to look at the INTENT. Obviously it was meant to be a positive comment on Obama’s electability in him being able to attract a larger electorate rather than just one group. It was really comment on logistics, the electorate and electability, and not at all meant to be racist, obviously. Why would Reid who is trying to get Obama elected ta that point say something racist about him? Do like George always say and don’t drink the Koolaid the Republicans are peddling; let’s stay focused on what this country needs to do to get out of the huge gaping financial debt hole Bush and the Republicans dug for us all.

    Richard Wise

  69. Jerry Saxz  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:35 pm

Eric, get real! Do you really believe Harry Reid is a racist? Do you believe that I am a racist because of my “twang”? Now Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, George Torres on the other hand…

  70. Dave Archibald  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:44 pm

There is absolutely no excuse for what Harry Reid said. He should be held to the same standard as Trent Lott and resign. You don’t get an automatic “pass” on saying racist remarks because you are a liberal. Sorry…life does not work that way. Besides the delusions of the Koolaid drinking liverals in the MSM, Americans see the blatant hipocrisy. It is so obvious it is disgusting.

  71. Weisbergen  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:46 pm

As much as I’d love to see Reid crash and burn, some of the readers on this blog are correct, George. Reid’s politically incorrect choice of words not withstanding, there is nothing racist in his comments and if he insulted anyone it’s not the president but the American electorate for his suggestion that skin color and dialect are foremost in a candidates electability.

But its also inescapable; how different the reaction would be, from the democrats and the media, if Reid were a republican.

    Weisbergen

  72. Rob Ryan  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:48 pm

Excellent blog on this matter, Eric C. Yes, it is hypocrisy. We must peer into Reid’s heart for meaning and listen to what comes out of his mouth. He’s a Democrat, so we must overlook “poor word choices”. Can you say double standard?

    Rob Ryan

  73. Ezekiel  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:50 pm

Eric, dont get angry at me now, but I don’t think there was anything wrong with what Reid said. I don’t know why he apologized for saying it.

I do have a problem with the double standards that Democrats seemed to live by, such as then Senator Obamas coments about Trent Lotts comments on Strom Thurman. I also have problems with squeemish Republicans who ran Lott out of his leadership role, even though I thought Lott was a “female feline”.

I guess you can say I just don’t like hypocrites.

  74. Izben Benjamin  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:54 pm

Eric and George and most of you are miaaing the REAL point here. I don’t understand why is it always considered inappropriate for a white person to discuss the color of another person’s skin or other racial distinctions. The audience was not privy to the complete context of Mr. Reid’s comment or his intent. However, from what I can tell he seemed to be analyzing possible factors that led to Mr. Obama’s huge success with white voters.

Our nation has become so sensitive to political correctiveness that we can’t even have a healthy discussion about race, gender, sexuality, or religion without getting mired in how correct it is to talk about these things. How are we ever to get past racism, sexism, etc. if it is not considered o.k. to talk about our differences? How can we become comfortable with our differences if we are considered bad people because we notice those distinctions and we want to talk about them?

  75. Jenny  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:56 pm

Eric, racism is racism, whether one chooses to use it benevolently or malevolently. The missionaries of the 1800s used it as the basis of their crusade to “civilize and redeem the backward and heathen savages”, as they viewed it, and the slaveholders of that time used to justify that slaves were property and not people, but both were racist views. That Reid intended his comments to be constructive or justify the President as a viable candidate does not change their racist nature.

  76. E Pluribus  •  Jan 21, 2010 @9:57 pm

Just keep dancing around the truth.
It’s OK if a Democrat is racist.
But, if a Republican had said it..oh my.
But we are in the double standard era.
Geraldine Ferraro was roasted alive for her comment on the campaign trail..she opposed Obama.
As long as you are Obama’s side you can say whatever you like.
Keep trying to explain how ‘negro dialect’ isn’t racist.
    Keep dancing around the truth.

  77. Aphonso  •  Jan 21, 2010 @10:03 pm

    Erci and George,

This is just another case of over-sensitive minorities looking for any reason to cry “foul!”

I don’t see anything in here about minorities being upset about what was side, I think this is one of your lil issues and your comments said more about than anyone else. Whites and Blacks etc say lots little negatives things about each other when they are in their own comfort zone. By the way ithe “black dialect ” use be called Jive no it’s ebonics, lol! But it is an inner city dialect, not a black. whites poor inner city areas speak that way well!

  78. Mitchelle  •  Jan 21, 2010 @10:04 pm

uh…was he not entirely correct? some older people still use terms that are dated. ‘negro’ used to be accepted in american vernacular. if anything the man is showing his age.

  79. Annette Reid  •  Jan 21, 2010 @10:09 pm

ERic, I don’t believe Reid is sorry and I am getting irritated that politicians are forced to issue hollow apologies every time they touch on the subject of race…particularly when what they say something analytical rather than offensive. What Reid says to a certain degree is quite true and insightful and I believe was on the minds of many people who watched the election. I don’t think America would have voted in a real African American and I think many black people would agree.
Obama’s racial ambiguity and his flexibility of voice and language made him more palatable to many voters even if it led to suspicion among others…
Has Reid directly offended anyone? No. The only thing he’s offended is the naive illusion that America doesn’t have racial tensions. But, is he showing his age with his vocabulary and suggesting the America would not likely vote for the averagel older African American politician ? Yes. No need to apologize for the truth.

  80. Anon  •  Jan 21, 2010 @10:13 pm

The sad thing is most people don’t understand that the uproar over whether or not a black person should be referred to as black, or negro or African-American or etc. has nothing to do with white-on-minority racisim. In reality, it’s minority-on-white racisim. The minority, (and those who want to identify with them or pander to them) use this to demonize the majority, i.e. WASP males. Yesterday, negro was an appropriate term; today it is not, but African-American is; tomorrow, that term won’t be appropriate and there will be a new term to replace it in order to keep the deomoniziation alive and well. All of this has only to do with reverse-racism in an effort to transfer power from those who now hold it to those who don’t but want it and will use any means to achieve it. Do you realize that a non-minority superior court judge in Los Angeles County recused himself from the Miley Cyrus trial because he referred to Asians as Orientals and, thereby, offened some Asians? Last time I checked, the Orient still refers to East Asia. And what about Obama himself? After all, in his book, “Dreams from My Father”, he states that, “[t]o avoid being mistaken for a white sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets.” Is it appropriate for a non-Hispanic/Latin-American to refer to an Hispanic/Latin-American as a Chicano? Does it not matter because they are both a minority in relation to the WASP? I don’t care what someone calls me and I certainly don’t care what somebody, Reid or anyone else, calls you. While I’m on this point, we’d all be a lot better off if we’d let people speak as they feel. At least, that way we could determine whether or not we want to associate or support those people. By silencing everyone it makes it much harder to know who our enemys are.

Eric, an old white guy makes a racist comment. Not surprised. But I do find it funny that everyone, like Jerry, brings up “freedom of speech” when someone makes a racist comment. Look at this way. If you called your boss a whole bunch of cursewords, do you think “freedom of speech” would help you save your job?

Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from the consequences of those speech. It just means you can’t be arrested for what you say. Furthermore if he has the freedom to say racist comments then Black people have the freedom of speech to complain, but you guys don’t seem to be backing Black people up on that one.

For all of you Reid and liberal democrat apologist… I do not agree with political correctness and am a firm believer in the 1st Amendment. That being said what the weasel Reid said - in context - was racist because it was demeaning to Obama and blacks. Liberals and the Lame Street Media are giving him a pass as they always do with racist… the other comments by Clinton, Biden and Sharpton and Jackson.

Reid won’t step down but will be fired… here in Nevada he is 10 points behind all 3 Republican challengers. He is so unpopular that his son who is running for govenor is not putting his last name on most of his campaign signs…

  86. eric  •  Jan 23, 2010 @8:52 pm

    Anne.

I am playing the race card?
What are you guys high on?
    lol

  87. eric  •  Jan 23, 2010 @8:58 pm

Democrats have a long history of playing race, religious, gender….any cards.

We had a melting pot where immigrants came and became Americans! One generation and they “melted in” enriching the American culture and nation with hat they brought.

Thanks to you guys, lawyers and foufou feeling politically correct utopian, we now have the salad bowl where all races, cultures, religious groups, minorities….live side by side in their own “cultural ghettos”.

In the name of political expediency, demagoguery and personal interest, you guys created DIVERSITYYYYY!
In the name of EQUALITY you created DIVERSITY.
Everybody is special and everything non-white is lesser and must be given equality with special laws contained in AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.

You guys have broken that nation of yours by playing the race card, and the religious one, and the sexual one, etc…

    You must be so proud!

  88. eric  •  Jan 23, 2010 @9:02 pm

I just registered my kids for the next school year…One fifth of tha page contained all the ethnic groups legal in our nice state. Asians have been split in about two dozen groups because it is not fair to say that they are high achievers when few among them are not…So now, Asians who want to check their ethnicity have to chose between chinese, korean, japanese, phillipino, hmong…etc
Only one box for white…as if there are not differences between a Briton or a French, a Polish or an Ukrainian, a portuguese and a Greek, a Nowegian and a guy from Luxembourg!
I added a small box labelled “other” and checked it.

  89. eric  •  Jan 23, 2010 @9:05 pm

By the way…Negro is a gone word killed by sensitivity and political correctness…like the F word for FAT my kids are learning about…or the D word for death…and so many other possibly hurtful words.

  90. eric  •  Jan 23, 2010 @9:14 pm

Take a look at Haiti…everything goes down to the slavery and France slave masters…they have been killing each other and exploiting each other since 1820 but somehow other are responsible for their misery, their poor choices of governments, of “protectors”, etc…Even the earthquake and FATE goes down to racial issues!
Maybe GOD himself is racist! After all, look at the misery throughout the African continent. And if there is no GOD, than NATURE is racist too…

Or maybe there are other self induced reason why the forces of nature have a higher impact on these regions of the world. Ethnic wars, religious wars, corruption, clan based societies, ethnic tensions (racism of some kind), wasting of local ressources, lack of spreading the wealth, slavery, perpetual looting of the treasury, dictatorships…

Saying every ills started with colonialism or slavery is OK but what continued it and made far worse?
