Democrat Ineptness Revealed

Crime, Education, Politics, Terrorism, Violence

Steve Wynn, Wynn Resorts, appeared on Fox News Sunday (10/11/09) with Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm. Chris Wallace asked Wynn if he saw any turn around in the economy. Wynn’s response and the following exchange with Granholm is revealing as it illustrated the total ineptness of Liberal Democrats and the philosophical failures of Liberalism.

Wynn said, “No, in the sense that I think that the priorities of the administration should have been more directly focused on job creation… And the most powerful weapon and the tool that the government has for that is its tax policy. If the government had used its power to restrain its tax collection they would have given everybody who runs small businesses, large businesses, a chance to hire more people and that could have been done an entirely different way. With eight or $900 billion we could have created four or five million jobs, which would have made a big difference. Government has never increased the standard of living of one single human being in civilization’s history. For some reason that simple truth has evaded everybody…The people that are paying the price for this juggernaut of federal spending are the middle class and the working class of America.

Granholm then showcased her incompetence and inherent flaws of liberalism. She whined, “It’s just so simplistic to say that! With all due respect… to say that government has never created a job or increased the standard of living… There are a lot of people who are grateful that in this country we have a minimum wage… who are grateful that they have access to Medicare and Medicaid. And I hope that we get access further to additional health care for those who are uninsured.”

Liberals just don’t get it! Reality and facts are a foreign concept. Take minimum wage. It is a job killer and is responsible for the 52% unemployment rate for unskilled teens and those entering the labor market for the first time. I doubt they are grateful. Medicare and Medicaid are going bankrupt with more than $50 trillion dollars in unfunded liability. Not a shining reference for socialized medicine. Government run health care is a proven failure.

The facts nullify Granholm’s credibility. In her two terms as governor she has demonstrated total failure in executive management. She has overseen the loss of 630,000 Michigan jobs and Michigan is expected to lose another 370,000 jobs in the next 14 months. In “simplistic” terms, the liberal democrat’s governance will have lost one million Michigan jobs and 1.4 million Michiganders now live below the poverty level.

In Detroit, governed by liberal democrats for decades, the economic condition is worse. The unemployment rate is 30%, social services agencies are struggling to provide food, clothing and shelter and 33% of its population lives below the poverty line. The democrat plan was to give Detroit residents that met certain criteria a $3,000 stimulus checks, referred to as “Obama money”, to help pay bills and rent or find temporary housing. The result was 35,000 people lined up for “Obama money” causing riots.

Not to worry, Obama and Granholm have a vision. Democrats will covert the state to an all-green technology that will create 40,000 new jobs by 2020. Then using fuzzy liberal math and grateful Michiganders she will proclaim a 960,000 job deficit a success. Using the standard liberal methods of lies, fuzzy math and misinformation, Granholm, Team Obama and democrats will claim their Marxist policies a success. Instead, Granholm revealed that she and her liberal democrat comrades are intellectually vacant and inept and the polls show more Americans are noticing.

George, you mentioned that you had not heard anything about this case – in addition to the television and news coverage, this is the child’s foundation and update from his parents on his condition. Michael is not able to breathe on his own at this point in time. This is the Michael Brewer Foundation Myspace which reflects how much this has touched people’s hearts – this heinous crime. I am going to donate to his bank account today and request that others donate what they can and continue praying for his full recovery. Tonight at 7 p.m. people will be praying in unison for his condition. Please do what you can for this family, what if it was your child or loved one?

Our Michael is getting better! A petition can be found to prosecute these kids as ADULTS - please sign http://mbrewer.epetitions.net/ A Michael Brewer supporter has requested that Michael Brewer supporters sign the petition and has noted that there are only a few days left as the prosecuting attorney is gathering facts before filing case. Society wants these violent young offenders prosecuted and has let their voice be heard in writing.

Since you are both executive, senior level correspondents/consultants for the
Von Frederick Group, Linkedin.com will be beneficial in that this is the primary network for business professionals, you will be casting a wider net and reaching larger demographic. Once you have joined, you can start your own group (e.g., politics, consulting, law enforcement, security) and/or join an existing group(s) which share your position and views. When you simultaneously post an article here on VFG, you can simultaneously post that same article in your group(s) thereby reaching a larger audience as notifications are sent out each time a discussion/article is posted to members of that group. You will obviously have link for/to VFG website as well in your Linkedin.com profile. Jobs and networking opportunities exist within this network consisting of first, second and third tier contacts/connections. You may already be doing so as marketing tool for VFG (yourselves as independent consultants) but I was not certain so I thought I would suggest. The innate talent for articulating your thoughts is evident in both of your presentations and musings on various subjects. Companies draw their expert witnesses, consultants and motivational speakers from Linkedin.com. I am just making an observation and noticing potential opportunities to be seized upon.

George, Obama’s anemic third-quarter report is another indication that the President’s economic gamble will fail to pay off. And that will be terrible news for Democrats heading into the 2010 midterm elections. Good Job George.

The ’stimulus’ bill could have been $2T and it STILL would not have worked. It wasn’t ’stimulus’. It was just pork spread out over a four year period.

Remember George, that weeks after the ’stimulus’ bill there was another $400B in pork attached to a Budget bill. And that is on top of the three ’stimulus’ bills passed in 2008 (which Obama also signed and advocated for) including the one which was supposed to fix housing prices.

Stimulus has to be directed as something to stimulate it. You can’t just dump money out of a freaking plane and expect that the whole economy is going to bounce back. It’s just a recipe for a massive wave of inflation in 2010/11 which is going to wipe out whatever assets weren’t lost in 2008.

Romer was right. She was right BEFORE she joined Obama. Back when she was telling the truth. Back before she was made to go out and lie about what was going to happen and what has already happened regarding this Freshman Year Econ policies.

Bring on more of other people’s money, Obama! It’ll work this time! His people are sounding like the Microsoft guy on the latest round of Mac commercials…”Trust me…this time it’ll be different!”

Last time I checked they put Madoff in jail for this kind of scheme. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain….

What a bunch of nothing. We were promised 8% unemployment, we have 10%. We were promised change, we have a third George Bush term. Spend, spend, spend, spend, spend. It’s only money; we can print more.

George, why can’t Obama and his aids look into the past to find a model that has worked. Or listen to people successful people like Mr. Wynn instead of governor Granholm? The model for recovery that he is following is doomed to failure. I wish he would protect our dollars as the world currency. I wish he would tell about the good things America has done. Most of all I wish he would stop spending our children s money. Send him your blog here.

I was a professor of Economics for several years in an MBA program. During that time I searched in vain for a single, peer reviewed academic research paper that even remotely suggested that s stimulus worked. Even my friends of Keynes have failed to produce one. In fact, I have failed to find evidence that a stimulus, other than a tax cut, that has ever worked in the history of the world. Thinking that my Senators, who voted for the Porkulus Bill, knew something that I did not; I asked them for the research they had used in order for them to cast their vote for such a dangerous precedent. Funny, I have not heard from them.

Lastly, The President of the Dallas Fed Reserve, in a recent WSJ interview indicated their research showed that SS and Medicare alone has an unfunded present value liability of over $100 Trillion. And, both will be insolvent within a few years. That suggests our true national debt is over 10 times it publicized level. That means that if every bit of our citizen’s earnings for about the next 8 years were collected as taxes, it would still be short. It appears the country is headed for bankruptcy as we cannot inflate or tax our way out of this. Seems to me a criminal act on their part to not solve this first. The politicians have dug a deep hole for themselves and have put our progeny at great risk through their selfishness. They are the horse thieves of modern America.

    Dear George;
What is a solution or do you just smack lips and be critical? This is not your breakfast table and you are not talking with your children. Get in with ideas or leave the table.

Professor Rick.. informed responses are welcomed. I hope the readers of this blog give your response some thought.

Serean George… you are correct, I am extremely critical. Re-read the article and previous articles if you have the time or inclination; my solutions are just what Wynn and a plethora of conservatives advocate - less government; less government regulation; less taxes; more economic freedom; return of private property rights; get rid of activist judges and appoint constituional contructionist judges… these would be a great start… allow Americans the freedom to pursue happiness - understanding happiness is not guaranteed
